June 9, 2010 National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) NASA's
DEVELOP Program is a Science Mission Directorate Applied Sciences-sponsored
internship that fosters the training and development of students in the
atmospheric and Earth sciences. The DEVELOP Program extends the
application of NASA Earth science research and technology to meet societal
needs. Students conduct projects that focus on the practical application of
NASAfs Earth science research and demonstrate how results can benefit partner
organizations and local communities. Advisors and mentors from NASA and
partner organizations provide the guidance and support for the program.
Students gain experience by using NASA science and technology in a
professional setting. Students from high school through doctoral levels are
chosen in a competitive application process. The selected students work on
teams at eight locations nationwide. Activities are conducted during three
10-week terms per year: summer, fall and spring. Visit http://develop.larc.nasa.gov NASA's
Human Research Program (HRP) investigates and mitigates the highest risks
to astronaut health and performance in exploration missions. The goal of
the HRP is to provide human health & performance countermeasures,
knowledge, technologies, and tools to enable safe, reliable, and productive
human space exploration, and to ensure safe and productive human spaceflight.
Topic areas include Host-Microbe Interactions, Crew Microbiome, Workload
Measures, Habitability Concept Tools, Psychosocial Aspects of Food

NASA ARMD Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2010 NRA includes
topics for the Environmentally Responsible Aviation (ERA) Project, we
expect to amend the NRA throughout the year to support other ARMD projects. A
major focus of this NRA is to encourage collaboration between other
organizations and NASA to help achieve specific goals in a variety of
foundational aeronautics research programs. Appendix D.2 includes the
Environmentally Responsible Aviation (ERA) Project topic N+2 Advanced Vehicle
Concepts Study (ERA1). This topic covers 1) development of advanced vehicle
concepts that have high potential to simultaneously meet all three NASA N+2
subsonic transport system level metrics; 2) development of technology maturation
plans that outline the research required to develop the technologies and
integrated aircraft systems critical to simultaneously meeting the noise,
emission and fuel burn goals; 3) development of the conceptual design of a
subscale testbed vehicle that through flight research would reduce the risk
associated with designing and building a full scale vehicle based on the
proposerfs advanced vehicle concept. The topic also includes options to
perform preliminary design of a subscale testbed vehicle and to conduct risk
reduction testing to validate the preliminary design. NASA's
Call for Proposals for Basic Science observations with the Stratospheric

digital art. Artwork submissions will be judged on creativity, skill, and
demonstration of meaning relevant to expressing gWhat is the future of human
space exploration, and why is it important?h Bonus points will be awarded for
artwork that does not break obvious scientific principles. Winning art will
be displayed in an online gallery, and winners will be invited to attend the
symposium in person. Submissions must be received by Sept. 30, 2010. Visit www.humansinspaceart.org. NASA
